Happy New Year! Happy new you!

Dear Ones,

What opens your heart and lets the love out? The first thing that comes to mind is music. Music evokes feelings, memories of love and friendship, the remembrance of times past, the excitement of new beginnings. Popular music is an expression of the collective consciousness and elicits responses often from deep within. We are greatly blessed to have our Center musicians who excel instrumentally and vocally. With that in mind, I have chosen the theme for the year - The Evolving Songs of Our Souls. Each month we will take a musical trip down memory lane and be reminded of the greatness of the ideas of the eras. I will either metaphysically interpret the music lyrics or explore what roots we may have in subconscious mind. I am very excited about this New Year. It will be different and it will be fun.

In addition to having this new theme, we will be changing the order of our service a little. I will be taking out the short meditation during the service and introducing a 15 minute meditation service at 10:30 a.m.

I love the beginning of the New Year! It is a perfect opportunity to begin again. With 365 days stretching out before us, we can choose just exactly what we want to be thankful for next Thanksgiving right now. The entire Universe supports this process of getting still, touching the seamless garment of the Divine and envisioning our next best version of our lives. It is perfectly natural for us to do this both collectively in our Center and individually.

Dr. Ernest Holmes wrote, "It is because the Mind of God, which is the creative mind of the universe, flows through man that man's thought is creative. It is because of man's nature and not his will that his thought is creative." How to Use the Science of Mind , page 1.

That is an awesome thought to contemplate. The creative mind of the universe flows through my mind and your mind. In other words whatever we are thinking about we are bringing about. We are using this creative mind 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

Whether we believe it or not, this power is running through us. And it creates according to our belief by bringing to us the ideas, experiences, circumstances and people that are a perfect fit to match the sum total of our believing.

That being so, it is now the time to determine what we want to be grateful for next November. Begin planting seeds of gratitude for prosperity, health, peace of mind, beauty, vitality, love and friendship. Use your creative imagination to see yourself the way you would like to be. Get quiet and listen to the still small voice of God to inspire you with the highest vision for yourself and your world.

Could this be the year that you take responsibility for your corner in consciousness? What I mean by that is by taking a vow of prosperity, happiness and freedom, you vow to keep your attention on the good, the possible and what is working. What if this were the year, you really lived without complaint? What if this were the year that you did all five of your spiritual practices consistently? (If you have forgotten, the practices are prayer, meditation, tithing, service and education.) What if this year you made a difference in people's lives by living from that sacred center of yourself that is eternal, pure Love?

This year we are making more changes. Changing indicates growth. As eternal spiritual beings, we are constantly evolving into greater awareness of the wholeness of our being. Happy New Year! Happy new you!

Love and blessings,
Heather
