About Our Program

Preschool

This class enjoys a variety of playful activities including stories, crafts and games. We start this class with circle time that includes prayer, offering and sharing time.

Kindergarten - 3rd Grade

We include lot's of fun as we join together in this class which involves prayer time, sharing, an age appropriate lesson with discussion and a craft.

4th - 6th Grade

Our pre-teen class is all about connecting with each other thru discussions, crafts, and learning spiritual practices.

Nursery

Our fully equipped nursery is staffed by two wonderful sisters, Natalie and Nedelca (below), and is ready for your newborn up to age three. Come by and see our beautiful nursery!

Children As Spiritual Beings

In our Center, children learn they are spiritual beings. They are one with God and each other. They have an intelligent creative power to use.

Youth Center is more than just Sunday childcare during the adult service. It is more than the crafts or even the lesson. It is the place our young people meet, connect and build friendships in our spiritual community. It is where we teach, learn and model living the Principle. Youth Center is a fun and rewarding place for volunteers to connect with the youth of our community and be of service. It is a place where growth occurs within everyone who participates and all are welcome.

Discovering God in Our Sunday Programs

As students of the Science of Mind we know that God is everywhere present and that truth is abundantly evident in our youth. Everywhere I look I see the faces of God. The children simply know and if you listen, really listen, to what they have to say you will hear the voice of God too.

How do I know this? Because I am a volunteer teacher in the Center for Spiritual Living - Capistrano Valley Youth program. Some of my biggest "AHA!" moments came while preparing for or teaching our youth. Our beautiful beliefs are simply stated and demonstrated in hands-on activities that reach the children's hearts and minds, as well as the teachers.

Beautiful God qualities come to life in our Youth Center. Our oneness is experienced and explored through games and crafts, like the whole group getting all tangled up in a ball of string and realizing if even one person was not present the whole web would droop. I see and feel true joy as beach balls dance through the air and witness the Creative Intelligence as art projects come to life. And I always have the joy of experiencing abundance in our youth classes, an abundance of glitter, glue, laughter and energy.

Maybe after reading all this you want to volunteer but believe that your soul will miss hearing Dr. Heather on Sunday. Believe me when I say, the message you are meant to hear is available to you regardless of whether you are in a Youth class or the Sanctuary on Sunday. Many Sundays I have entered our Youth Center struggling with a limited belief, but while I taught or listened to the message I discovered my answer. And, as an added bonus, I had the giggles, questions and stories of the children to lift my heart.

Volunteering in the Youth Center is definitely a gift. A gift I am honored to receive every first Sunday of the month. Come join the fun, the power and the presence in our Youth Center. You will discover more of yourself than you ever thought possible.
